On the other hand, we have the Internet

The speed at which technology (especially, the Internet) shapes reality is unprecedented. Forty years of the internet: how the world changed forever is one of my favourite reads on the subject matter. As the author rightfully remarks — “trying to express the magnitude of what began that day [the internet was invented], and what has happened in the decades since, is an undertaking that quickly exposes the limits of language.”

This never before seen growing capacity for large scale, relatively high speed change is a big reason I have dedicated my life to the Internet.
